How does it work?

We work with an Italian Partner on a government funded program, placing students in engaging and worthwhile work placements in the local area. The students undertake a 1 week cultural orientation and work placement preparation training at Eurospeak, and then carry out their 4 week work placement in a local organisation.

What does it cost?

The programme is entirely funded by the government, and there is absolutely no cost to the placement organisation, as all of the students’ costs are covered. The students have already received all of the funding through a grant.

How old are the students?

The students are aged between 17 – 20 years old, and all have the equivalent of CRB/DBS certificates from Italy, with a verified translation.

What are the students fields of study?

Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing
ICT, Web Development, Programming
Health and Social Care/Welfare
Travel & Tourism
Marketing & Communications

Where are the students from?

The students are from a combination of technical schools in Northern Italy.

What are the dates for the placements?

The students come in batches of 10 – 16 students, from May – October. We are expecting to receive further groups during Summer 2017.

The student’s have a level of English between CEFR B1 (Intermediate) and CEFR B2 (Upper-Intermediate).

What’s in it for my organisation?

Expand future recruitment pool;
Increased profile among the European partner network;
Staff member, completely free of cost;
Fresh ideas and enthusiasm;
Community and public image;

How successful is the programme?

The students have been selected as the brightest students from their school among hundreds of applicants, and have had excellent feedback in past years.

Last year we placed students with Hilton Reading, Novotel Reading, Lattitude Global Volunteering, JACPad Outreach and Age Concern Bracknell Forest to great success. This year we have already placed students with Waterstones Reading, MAS Recruitment and The Keen Partnership amongst others.

How are the students monitored?

We organise placement visits during the four week period, and the students will have weekly meetings with ourselves, to ensure everything is going well, and to iron out any issues they may have.

In addition to this, our work placement coordinator will also be available to speak with the host organisation at any time during the placement to take feedback, and to resolve any issues that arise during the placement.
