You can now take your B1 English test in Reading, Berkshire at Eurospeak Language School, located in the Reading Town Centre.
Who needs the B1 test?
From 28th October 2013, anyone applying for permanent settlement or British Citizenship must pass two exams unless someone is exempt. The two exams are as below:
– Life in the UK Test
– B1 Level ESOL Entry 3 exams in speaking and listening
How long will the B1 test take?
The B1 ESOL test will take about 2.5 hour. The test will consist of a speaking, listening, reading and writing component.
When can you take the test?
At our B1 exam centre in Reading, the test can be taken on all weekdays and even on weekends. The candidate needs to complete the booking at Eurospeak, at least 3 days prior to the test date.
How much does the test cost?
Here are the prices for the B1 test:
Standard: £150 (Results will take 2-3 weeks)
Emergency: £200 (Results will take 4-6 working days)
**An extra charge of £30 will be applied for test taken over the weekends.
Do you offer any discounts?
For bookings made after the 20th of March 2014, we will offer a £15 discount if you refer a friend to our centre for the B1 exam.

We have two centres in Reading. The test will be held either at:

Eurospeak, 45 West Street, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 1TZ
